PHL Audio/Questions

Questions

Frequently asked questions about PHL Audio drivers and how we work.

Why is the shape of our chassis hexagonal?

This particular shape results from several requirements:

  • keeping the fastening holes away from the enclosure mounting-hole edge — to avoid wood splintering and to leave enough clearance to position the grip-nuts properly;
  • making the basket design compact enough to fit into little space;
  • enabling several drivers to be fitted as close as possible together.

The hexagonal basket shape with its fastening ears has been part of the PHL Audio signature from the very beginning.

Why choose a PHL Audio loudspeaker rather than another brand?

Because all PHL Audio drivers are designed to bring competitive advantages to your products:

  • high reliability and long life duration in real operating conditions (including humidity and cold climates);
  • ultimate sound even at very high sound pressure levels;
  • powerful and compact systems made possible by advanced-performance drivers.

Choosing drivers designed and manufactured under high quality standards lets your clients save time and cost by making driver replacement less frequent, and helps design compact, light, powerful systems that are faster to set up and take down on tour — for a rapid return on investment.

You also benefit from continuously upgraded technology, customization through full technical support, and a simple and efficient sample policy — backed by Quality Assurance Mastery: 100% conform parts batch after batch, full respect of delivery dates, and the flexibility of a dynamic structure.

What is your sample policy?

Any driver from the standard PHL Audio range can be obtained as a sample (this does not apply to OEM prototypes — please contact us for those).

  • Your sample request is a formal commercial order, issued in writing with a P.O. number.
  • You pay for the drivers according to your regular payment terms.
  • Samples — working or not — can be returned freight prepaid within 10 weeks of the original shipment (invoice date) and are credited to your account (no cash refunds).
  • A driver returned in non-working order is credited on receipt of your test report describing the conditions of use, helping us improve our products.
  • Samples you keep are credited at full value when you order twelve similar models for production (1 sample free for 12 similar items ordered).

In short: you do not pay for a sample as long as you return it to the factory within 10 weeks, or as long as you choose it for production.
